App

The term app is derived from the word application. Apps are application programs used on mobile devices, such as Tablet PCs or smartphones. Apps are used as media channel within the online marketing.

Apps are either programmed specifically for specific operating systems (native app) or are web apps that run in web browsers on all operating systems. In addition, there are so-called hybrid apps, which functionally implement both variants within one app.
