Standard light types
The standard light types according to CIE are important for colour matching. Since colour impressions are strongly dependent on the lighting colour, the assessment of a colour tone should only be carried out in conjunction with a defined type of light. For this purpose special lamps are used which correspond to a certain type of light. The color of a light type can be determined by the colour temperature, measured in Kelvin.
Frequently used light types
As a rule, D50 is used for colour matching, which corresponds to the colour of daylight and a colour temperature of 5000 Kelvin. With the help of the Ugra colour temperature indicator it can be visually determined whether a light type meets this requirement.
