Webfonts
Web fonts are used to display fonts in web browsers. The fonts are used in the style sheets of a website, the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), defined, downloaded from a server and then displayed on the monitor within the web browser.
Fields of application
With high-quality web fonts, corporate design specifications (CD) can also be implemented on websites without the previous design and quality restrictions that the use of standard system fonts, such as Arial, Times, Verdana, or the conversion of text into graphics, entailed.
Sources of supply
Web fonts can be purchased from font suppliers or rented through a web font service. The formats used include WOFF (Web Open Font Format), EOF (Embedded Open Type) and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics).
