IP address

IP address stands for a internet protocol address, e.g. consisting of numbers in the form xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Data can thus be transported from A to B and the recipient of the data to be transported is identified via the IP address.

Domain assignment

Each domain in the Internet is assigned an IP address. The IP address is also the basis for data exchange in the WWW using the transmission protocol TCP/IP.
