Virtual conversations
IRC is a chat system in the internet, with the help of which virtual "conversations" run practically in real time and users have the possibility to communicate with each other worldwide. The program was first developed in 1988.
The special feature of IRC is that it is based on pure text. Participants can be active in several channels simultaneously. Prerequisite for participation in an IRC is the use of an IRC-client.
