The term Bluetooth describes a radio communication technology developed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). This is a wireless interface that enables wireless communication between Bluetooth compatible devices such as computers, mobile devices such as tablet-PCs or smartphones and peripherals such as printers, hard drives or USB.

Technology

The technology is based on radio waves. In this way, objects can also be placed between the communicating devices without interrupting the connection. The maximum range of a Bluetooth connection depends on the respective device and can be up to 100 meters. A related technology is NFC.
