Double-opt-in
The double opt-in procedure is used in e-mail marketing. In contrast to the single-opt-in procedure, it refers to the double confirmation of a registration, for example to a newsletter or a member area. By means of this procedure the operator of a website secures himself legally, so that no unsolicited e-mails are sent.
Process flow
In the double opt-in procedure, for example, the user registers for a newsletter via an online form. Before the e-mail address is completely registered in the mailing list, the user receives a confirmation e-mail in which, usually via a call-to-action, the registration is confirmed by clicking on a link or not.
