FTP
File Transfer Protocol. FTP is a protocol used to transfer files within the internet. Files are downloaded from a server to a client (see download) or vice versa, from a client to a server (see upload). An FTP client connects to an FTP server to transfer data.

Data transfers via FTP are increasingly being replaced by offers within the framework of cloud computing, in which external data storage is used.
