Landing page or target page, means a special internet page on which a user lands after clicking on a link within a search portal or an advertisement (online banner). Landing pages are used in online marketing to optimise the conversion rate.
Objective and purpose
The objective of the landing page is to ask a user to take action by means of striking call to action elements. While the actual website of the advertiser is often too overloaded and too much content can distract from a product purchase, a landing page is created for a specific purpose. In this case, it is the last station immediately before the product is purchased.
