Storytelling is a method of content marketing.


The method of storytelling has established itself within the PR and marketing industry. The technique of storytelling is combined with digital technology. The product recedes into the background and often does not appear at all. The story behind the product, a brand, the company or the idea, for example, comes to the foreground and tries to address the reader on an emotional level. The supplier tries to sell his products or services credibly through comprehensible stories.

Means and methods

Especially YouTube videos, blogs and social media platforms are suitable for both storytelling and distribution, since social networks ideally bring a viral effect to the story (see also viral marketing).
