Trigger e-mail
Trigger e-mails, i.e. event-related e-mails, are e-mails that are sent to the respective recipients only for a certain reason. Trigger emails are a special form of e-mail marketing.
Differentiation
Unlike the newsletter, trigger e-mails do not appear periodically. An example of this is the confirmation e-mail of a double-opt-in procedure or sending an automated and personalised welcome e-mail after registration in a online shop. If a user is registered as a customer, future birthday congratulations or discount campaigns can also be described as trigger e-mails.
